Estudio observacional: la pérdida perinatal como espacio de aprendizaje en enfermería

Abstract

El duelo tras una pérdida perinatal es algo muy significativo en la vida de cualquier familia, pero también en la vida del profesional que tiene que acompañarles en ese momento, y el problema principal es que, en muchas ocasiones, el profesional sanitario carece de herramientas para ofrecer una atención sanitaria básica y de calidad a los padres tras la vivencia de esta pérdida perinatal. Este estudio observacional trata sobre la importancia de tratar de cubrir las necesidades que viven las madres ante la vivencia de un duelo tras la pérdida perinatal de un hijo. El objetivo principal es describir la actuación de los profesionales de enfermería del Hospital Universitario de La Paz durante la atención a la familia o a la madre tras la pérdida perinatal de un bebé y el comienzo del duelo. La metodología que se va a emplear para este estudio es de tipo observacional descriptivo. Se recogerán varias variables para un análisis posterior. Las aportaciones previstas de este trabajo para la práctica profesional enfermera son que los profesionales sanitarios tengan conciencia del problema y sepan abordarlo a través de unos cuidados básicos antes este duelo siempre basados en evidencia científica.

Bereavement after a perinatal loss is something very significant in the life of any family, but also in the life of the professional who has to accompany them at that time, and the main problem is that, on many occasions, the health professional lacks the tools to offer basic and quality health care to parents after experiencing this perinatal loss. This observational study deals with the importance of trying to cover the needs experienced by mothers in the experience of bereavement after the perinatal loss of a child. The main objective is to describe the performance of the nursing professionals of the Hospital Universitario de La Paz during the care of the family or the mother after the perinatal loss of a baby and the beginning of the bereavement. The methodology to be used for this study is descriptive observational. Several variables will be collected for later analysis. The expected contributions of this work for professional nursing practice are that health professionals should be aware of the problem and know how to approach it through basic care before this bereavement, always based on scientific evidence.
