La poética del viento en La madre (Grazia Deledda, 1920)

Abstract

La narrativa de Grazia Deledda (1871-1936), caracterizada por un psicologismo de fuerte impronta romántico-idealista en el que la cultura sarda y el paisaje cobran un protagonismo especial, se construye en torno a dos componentes esenciales: el sustrato de las civilizaciones primitivas y la función expresiva del medio natural, que se plasman mediante una poderosa estructura simbólica. En el presente artículo se analiza el valor significante del viento en la novela La madre (1920), lo que nos permite profundizar en el conocimiento de los procedimientos compositivos que la autora utiliza habitualmente. Nuestro estudio recurre a las herramientas que tanto la filosofía del lenguaje como la lingüística —y, de forma más concreta, la semántica— ofrecen al investigador con el fin de acercarnos al conocimiento del símbolo, así como a su valor referencial y dinamizador.

The narrative of Grazia Deledda (1871-1936), characterized by a psychological approach strongly influenced by romantic-idealistic themes in which Sardinian culture and the landscape play a special role, is built around two essential components: the substrate of primitive civilizations and the expressive function of the natural environment, which are embodied through a powerful symbolic structure. This article analyzes the significant value of the wind in the novel “La madre” (1920), allowing us to delve into the understanding of the compositional procedures that the author commonly employs. Our study employs tools from both the philosophy of language and linguistics—specifically semantics—to approach the understanding of the symbol, as well as its referential and dynamic value
