EL ROL DEL INTÉRPRETE EN LAS RUEDAS DE PRENSA FUTBOLÍSTICAS

Abstract

El presente trabajo parte de la curiosidad de la autora de esclarecer el rol y el grado de mediación que adopta un intérprete (de consecutiva) en un sector de especial relevancia para ella: el fútbol. Más concretamente, el presente trabajo utiliza el contexto de las ruedas de prensa futbolísticas, pertenecientes al mercado privado de la interpretación para esclarecer el rol del intérprete por medio de dos modelos complementarios: el continuo de mediación de Aguirre y Roca (2015) y la teoría de las distancias comunicativas de Aguirre y Paíno (2023). Gracias a estos dos modelos y al análisis del contexto podremos entender la toma de decisiones y el porqué de su posicionamiento en este ámbito hacia un grado mínimo o máximo de mediación, lo que permitirá a futuros intérpretes mejorar su ejercicio en entornos similares. Además, este trabajo podrá ser utilizado como guía para ayudar a comprender las necesidades de otros contextos donde la interpretación fuese necesaria, ya que podrían aplicar este estudio para analizar cualquier situación de interpretación y así poder decidir de acuerdo a lo analizado.

This paper is based on the author's curiosity to clarify the role and degree of mediation adopted by a (consecutive) interpreter in a sector of particular relevance to her: football. More specifically, this paper uses the context of football press conferences, which belong to the private interpreting market, to shed light on the role of the interpreter by means of two complementary models: Aguirre and Roca's mediation continuum (2015) and Aguirre and Paíno's theory of communicative distances (2023). Thanks to these two models and the analysis of the context, we will be able to understand the decision-making process and the reasons for their positioning in this field towards a minimum or maximum degree of mediation, which will allow future interpreters to improve their practice in similar environments. They could also use this work as a guide to help them understand the needs of other contexts where interpreting is necessary, as they could apply this study to analyse any interpreting situation and thus be able to decide according to what has been analysed.
