How did the profit-centric strategies and the 737 Max crises impact Boeing's competitive advantage the Airbus 320 operational efficiencies?
Resumen
This thesis assesses the impact of Boeing's profit-focused strategies, in particular the 737 MAX crisis, on its competitive position vis-à-vis Airbus. It contrasts the strategic approaches of the two aerospace giants, highlighting Boeing's rush to maintain market share and the consequences of implementing the MCAS system. In comparison, Airbus emerges as more stable with its A320, due to a focus on operational efficiency and incremental improvements. A quantitative analysis highlights a decline in Boeing's post-crisis competitive advantage and a strengthening of Airbus' position. This research concludes that business sustainability depends on balanced strategies that emphasise safety and customer confidence.
