This work analyzes the Dogger Bank A offshore wind farm as a case study to understand the development of the North Sea, which Europe has placed at the center of its climate objectives. This is reflected in joint declarations by several countries, the most recent being the Hamburg Declaration (January 2026), which envisions the region as the world's largest clean energy power plant. The project covers site characterization, integral design (turbines, electrical system, and connection), energy yield calculation using PyWake, and the cost structure over the asset's lifetime, culminating in an economic analysis that combines a Project Finance cash-flow model with an LCOE analysis. Technically, Dogger Bank A is located roughly 131 km off Yorkshire, spanning 515 km² with 1.2 GW across 95 GE Haliade-X wind turbines. The inter-array network operates at 66 kV and evacuates power via HVDC (±320 kV) to Creyke Beck, making it the first UK wind farm connected using this technology. It is remunerated through a CfD for 15 years. The results highlight the complexity of the megaproject, the risks to the electrical system, and the limitations of the CfD as a mitigant. Despite the delays stemming from the Haliade-X blade failures, profitability remains robust (equity IRR of 11.2% at P50, 9.7%/8.5% at P90/P99). The conclusion holds that the success of renewables rests on their competitiveness and profitability, which mobilizes private capital at the scale required. All of this turns the North Sea into a strategic asset that aligns sustainability with economic opportunity.en-GB
