Cómo mueren las democracias fue uno de los libros más influyentes de los últimos años sobre el declive de las democracias liberales en Occidente. De hecho, todo el mundo parecía haberlo leído el día que unos majaderos decidieron asaltar el Capitolio. En él, los profesores de Harvard Steven Levitsky y Daniel Ziblatt razonaban lo siguiente: «Durante los últimos años, hemos visto a ciertos políticos decir y hacer cosas que no tienen precedente en los Estados Unidos, pero que reconocemos como precursoras de la crisis democrática que padecen otros países». ¿No suena esto demasiado familiar?

How Democracies Die was one of the most influential books in recent years on the decline of liberal democracies in the West.
