Abstract

The aim of this Final Year Project is to redesign the geometry of the lower triple clamp of the ISC Racing Team’s motorbike using topological optimisation techniques and finite element method simulations. It also analyses the technical and economic feasibility of manufacturing a component for the ISC Racing Team’s motorbike using additive manufacturing techniques. The final result of the project was a 54% reduction in the final mass of the lower triple clamp, without compromising its structural stiffness.
