Abstract

Toda sociedad tiene como misión asegurar un adecuado proceso de socialización de sus nuevos miembros. En la actualidad este objetivo se ha logrado mediante la implan tación de la escolaridad obligatoria, al menos desde un punto de vista cuantitativo, pero también es cierto que esto ha tenido como consecuencia una des-responsabiliza ción de la sociedad en lo que se refiere a la educación de sus miembros más jóvenes. Una sociedad-ciudad será educadora cuando reconozca, ejerza y desarrolle, entre otras, una función educadora, en el sentido de asumir una intencionalidad y una res ponsabilidad con el objetivo de la formación, la promoción y el desarrollo de todos sus habitantes, empezando por los más jóvenes. Desde esta perspectiva, se plantean algu nas líneas de reflexión de cara a la praxis de una sociedad educadora: la necesaria incidencia en una acción educativa de carácter comunitario sobre los niños y algunas de sus premisas, así como la activación/recuperación de espacios de convivencia y par ticipación social y algunas de las vías para conseguirlo
