UNA CIUDAD PRÓXIMA A LA TIERRA: LOS RETOS DE TRADUCIR CÓMIC ÁRABE

Abstract

El objetivo de este proyecto consiste en analizar las causas que dificultan la traducción de cómic escrito en árabe nuestro país. Nuestros esfuerzos se centrarán en entender cuáles son los retos a los que se enfrenta la persona que quiera traducir cómic árabe en España. Para ello analizaremos los dos focos principales de dificultad: el sector editorial y el aspecto lingüístico. Finalmente realizaremos un caso práctico a partir de la novela gráfica Madinah mujawirah lil-Ard, del artista libanés Jorj Abou Mhaya, para profundizar en el análisis lingüístico del cómic árabe.

The objective of this project is to analyze the main causes that hinder translating comic books written in Arabic to Spanish in Spain. We will focus our efforts on the challenges that the person who wants to translate this kind of works will face in our country. To do this, we will analyze the two main sources of difficulty: the publishing industry and the linguistics of the Arabic language in comic books. Finally, we will carry out a brief case study on the graphic novel Madinah mujawirah lil-Ard, by Lebanese artist Jorj Abou Mhaya, in order to go in depth in the linguistic analysis of comic books written in Arabic.
