dc.description.abstract | Simulation is an important tool for study, analysis, design and evaluation of real world systems that we are unable to experiment with directly. Due to complexity of Smart Grids communication systems, it is necessary to use advanced simulation systems with the aim of accelerate the development and implementation of Smart Grids. In this paper, an advanced simulation platform (based on OMNET%2B%2B) for Smart Grid is presented, and an application case for an IEC 61850 communication system is analyzed.
