dc.description.abstract | This research delves into the enduring applicability of photocurable acrylic resins for extended biomedical applications, presenting a thorough examination of the mechanical properties of Biomed Clear, a commercial resin from Formlabs. The study meticulously evaluates the resin's behavior under static stress (compression and flexion) and fatigue testing across various aging stages, employing Phosphate Buffered Saline (PBS) at 37°C as the aging medium to closely mimic the human body's conditions. The findings offer profound insights into the long-term characteristics of these materials, heralding new possibilities for their use in innovative biomedical fields. A notable aspect of this research is the utilization of 3D printing technology to produce all samples, positioning this study at the forefront of providing detailed long-term mechanical insights under conditions that closely simulate the in-vitro environment. This pioneering work not only enhances our understanding of the durability and potential of photocurable acrylic resins in the biomedical sector but also sets a precedent for future research in the application of 3D printed materials for long-term medical solutions. | en-GB |
